Question:

Has there ever been a year in which BOTH Golden Globe winners weren't at least nominated for Best Picture? Because, if my predictions come to fruition, that would be the case this year.

For the record, here's what I predict:

No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
Into the Wild
Michael Clayton

I really, really, really don't see Into the Wild being nominated. My current:

Atonement
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
Juno
No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood

I never really trusted Sweeney Todd to begin with, and I admit Michael Clayton could happen.

And I hate how last year people were saying there'd have to be a crowd-pleasing indie comedy when they were discussing Little Miss Sunshine, and now those people are silent about Juno, even though it's better in virtually all areas and is the highest-grossing film that has a legitimate chance. Jeez.

Atonement is just a blind raging bias, like when I was screaming that Saoirse was gonna win for about three months.

it is interesting (and intriguing) that there are still so many films in the running pre-oscar morning.

i'm excited at the possibilities of some good surprises.
