With all the hubbubb surrounding the birth of goddess Deschanel, I somehow overlooked the fact that it's also the birthday of the gorgeous Freddy Rodríguez.
Funny how life works. The man has been on my mind all day since I came across a kind of bizarre retelling of the Biblical story of Joseph featuring him in the title role. It didn't exactly make sense for him to have an entirely Caucasian family (including THREE Bottoms brothers- Sam, Timothy, and Ben), but he was really the only reason I watched it at 2 a.m. when I should have been sleeping.
JA had a nice post devoted to him after the release of
Grindhouse last year, and he mentioned how hard it is to find good pictures of him on the internet. Unfortunately, not much has changed in the past year.
I've been a fan of Freddy ever since his days spent on HBO, but it was Grindhouse that really endeared him to me. Who would have thought that an actor who's only 5'6" and is usually seen in supporting roles could be that bad ass . . .?
